Kathy is a self-taught photographer from a small town in Virginia, where she was born and raised with all her family close by. Family is incredibly important to her and it is pretty safe to say that her world revolves around that close knit group of people who offer her constant support and encouragement. Photography is her passion and the camera is her companion wherever she goes. Kathy takes advantage of the beautiful scenery surrounding her and there isn’t a moment that goes by when she isn’t planning her next shot.
Kathy's unique style of photography focuses on creating a work of art from a simple photograph by using textures and different digital enhancement techniques to create a certain mood in her work. Kathy's love of vintage art often surfaces in her work, but she enjoys all aspects of photography and covers a wide variety of subjects from old barns and country living, to floral art and landscapes. Kathy loves to experiment with photographs and thrives on the challenges and the satisfaction it brings when she achieves the look and feel of the photograph she wants.
Kathy has shown at local art shows and currently hangs her work at a local gallery in the Lexington, Virginia area. She owns and operates a small photography business in Virginia which specializes in environmental and fine art photography. The name of Kathy's business, "Moments In Time Photography," was inspired from her favorite quote by Aaron Siskind: “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
